HWV 7

HWV 7 is a reimagining of Handel’s Lascia ch’io pianga. It was recorded with three chamber string orchestras in one room, and explores pointillism, laying an intricate tapestry for Handel’s beautiful melody to weave in and out. It was released on the 30th July 2021 as part of Chromium Music Group’s Chromium x Classics release.

Solace

Inspired by states of being, Solace, the 2019 Choral album by Thomas Farnon draws on emotions and life stories, translating them through the human voice, to draw on the listeners experience in a form of musical escapism. Solace was recorded in March 2019 at AIR Studios, London and features the London Voices conducted by Terry Edwards.

Reverie

Reverie is the second studio album by composer Thomas Farnon. The 10-track album is a cinematic explosion of colour drawn and inspired by dreaming. The spellbinding masterpiece is emotionally striking and was recorded, mixed and mastered at AIR Studios in November 2018. Conducted by Mike MacLennan, Reverie features a large string orchestra augmented by six soloists including Andy Massey, Peter Gregson, John Mills and Caroline Dale. Leading tracks from the album include impassioned ‘Transcendence’ and the multi-layered ‘Sleep’.

Nothing too serious

Nothing Too Serious was recorded in May 2018 and was designed to be a lighter follow up to Thomas Farnon’s first album A. We recorded it at AIR, Master Chord and Miloco Studios. It features some amazing players including world renowned percussionist Frank Ricotti, The Tippett Quartet, bassist Chris Lawrence and was recorded and mixed by Adam Miller.

Two Impromptus

Two Impromptus is an EP featuring two solo piano pieces from Thomas Farnon. ’Impromptu No.1’ is a lilting and beautifully reflective piece slowly building and evolving. ’Impromptu No. 2’ is a melodic and nostalgic piano study. Both were recorded at Abbey Road Studios in April 2019 featuring Thomas on piano. Impromptu, No. 1 has surpassed 1.5 million streams on Spotify as of October 2020.

A, the 2018 orchestral album from Thomas Farnon was recorded at AIR Studios London in February 2018. The music is emotional and moving and features 18 string players from the London Session Orchestra as well as Peter Gregson on solo cello. It was conducted by David Farnon. Highlights of the album include the brooding track ‘A Compulsion’ and the tender ‘A Loss’.

Protest

Inspired by the events of this year, Protest is a passionate, relentless and apolitical piece by Thomas Farnon; exploring unification and the passion people feel when coming together to achieve lasting change. Composed over a 6 month period during lockdown, the piece was recorded when restrictions were lifted in September 2020, featuring a large orchestra and two soloists.
